Jazz 2

Jazz 2 (Ages 9 to 12)

Our Jazz 2 class is designed for dancers ages 9 to 12 who are ready to continue developing their jazz technique in a fun, energetic, and encouraging environment. Dancers build strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, rhythm, and musicality while learning more advanced jazz skills, including turns, kicks, leaps, jumps, and dynamic traveling combinations. Each class focuses on developing strong technique while encouraging confidence, creativity, and expressive performance.

As dancers progress throughout the season, they improve body awareness, control, and stage presence while learning the value of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance. Jazz helps students become versatile performers by combining technical training with energetic choreography and musical expression.

While not required, Jazz 2 pairs exceptionally well with Ballet 2. Ballet provides the strength, flexibility, balance, and technical foundation that naturally supports jazz, making it an excellent combination for dancers looking to continue their growth and build well-rounded technique.

Dancers in Jazz 2 have the exciting opportunity to perform in both our Winter Showcase and our End of Season Recital, giving them the opportunity to showcase their progress and create lasting memories on stage.

A proper jazz dress code allows instructors to clearly see body alignment, technique, and movement while helping dancers move comfortably and confidently throughout class.

Required Attire

• Leotard of your choice (any color or style)
• Fitted shorts or fitted leggings may be worn over the leotard
• Hair must be securely pulled away from the face in a bun, ponytail, or braids
• No jeans or dresses

• Classic leather slip on jazz shoes are required
• Girls: Match your skin tone
• Boys: Black

Ordering Jazz Shoes

To ensure every dancer has the correct style, color, and fit for class and recital, jazz shoes may be conveniently ordered through the studio's front desk.

Families are welcome to purchase shoes elsewhere; however, all dancers must wear the required shoe style and color for recital. We highly recommend ordering through the studio to ensure the correct fit and a uniform appearance on stage.
