About This Class
Combo: Ballet & Tap (Ages 4 to 5)
Our Ballet & Tap Combo class gives young dancers the opportunity to experience two exciting styles of dance in one fun-filled class. Ballet helps dancers develop balance, coordination, flexibility, posture, and graceful movement, while tap introduces rhythm, timing, musicality, and confidence through sound and movement. Together, these styles provide a well-rounded dance education while keeping classes engaging and age appropriate for young learners.
Designed specifically for ages 4 and 5, this class encourages creativity, builds self-confidence, and helps children strengthen important classroom skills such as listening, following directions, and working with others. As dancers grow throughout the season, they develop a love for movement while building the foundation for future dance training in a positive and encouraging environment.
Our Ballet & Tap Combo class is a wonderful choice for children who are ready to explore different styles of dance while having fun and making new friends. Dancers in this class also have the exciting opportunity to perform in both our Winter Showcase and our End of Season Recital, giving them the chance to celebrate their progress and shine on stage.
Requirements & Dress Code
Our Ballet/Tap Combo classes introduce dancers to two classic styles of dance in one class. A proper dress code allows instructors to clearly see body alignment and technique while helping dancers move comfortably and confidently through both ballet and tap.
Required Attire
• Leotard of your choice (any color or style) Boys: athletic wear
• Ballet skirt, fitted shorts, or fitted leggings may be worn over the leotard
• Hair must be securely pulled away from the face in a bun, ponytail, or braids
• No jeans or dresses
Shoe Requirements
Because this class includes both ballet and tap, dancers will need both of the following:
Ballet Shoes
• Full sole leather ballet shoes are required
• Girls: Pink
• Boys: Black
• Studio Price: $22.95
• Ballet "slippers" are not permitted.
Tap Shoes
• Tan Mary Jane tap shoes are required
• Studio Price: $28.95
Ordering Dance Shoes
To ensure every dancer has the correct style, color, and fit for class and recital, dance shoes may be conveniently ordered through the studio's front desk.
Families are welcome to purchase shoes elsewhere; however, all dancers must wear the required shoe styles and colors for recital. We highly recommend ordering through the studio to ensure the correct fit and a uniform appearance on stage.
