Ballet 1

Ballet 1 (Ages 6 to 8)

Our Ballet 1 class is the perfect introduction to ballet for dancers ages 6 to 8, and no previous dance experience is required. In this class, dancers learn proper ballet technique while developing balance, coordination, flexibility, strength, posture, and musicality. Students are introduced to ballet terminology, foundational positions, and age-appropriate combinations that encourage both technical growth and artistic expression.

As dancers progress throughout the season, they build confidence, discipline, and perseverance while learning the importance of focus, teamwork, and attention to detail. Ballet also helps improve body awareness and control, skills that benefit children both in and outside of the dance studio. Whether your child is stepping into their very first dance class or discovering a new passion, Ballet 1 provides a welcoming and supportive environment where every dancer can succeed.

Dancers in Ballet 1 have the exciting opportunity to perform in both our Winter Showcase and our End of Season Recital, allowing them to celebrate their progress and experience the joy of performing on stage.

Ballet Dress Code

A proper ballet dress code allows instructors to see body alignment and technique while helping dancers move comfortably and confidently in class.

Required Attire
• Leotard of your choice (any color or style)
• Ballet skirt, fitted shorts, or fitted leggings may be worn over the leotard
• Hair must be secured away from the face in a bun or other neat hairstyle

Ballet Shoe Requirements

• Full sole leather ballet shoes are required
• Girls: Pink | Boys: Black
• Studio Price: $22.95
• Ballet "slippers" are not permitted.

Ordering Shoes

To ensure all dancers have the correct style, color, and fit for class and recital, ballet shoes may be conveniently ordered through the studio's front desk. While families are welcome to purchase shoes elsewhere, all dancers must wear the required shoe style for their class level and recital.
